Creamy pepper and mushroom pork steaks

  • 2 lean pork loin steaks
  • 1 tsp mixed peppercorns, crushed
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 100g mixed mushrooms
  • 5 tbsp (75ml) crème fraîche
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil, roughly torn
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, roughly torn


Peppery pork steaks with creamy mushroom sauce, served with spinach and potatoes. A simple and satisfying meal for any occasion!

  1. Crush the peppercorns and coat the pork steaks.
  2. In a griddle or frying pan, heat and cook the steaks for 2-4 minutes.
  3. Add the garlic and mushrooms and cook for a further 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add to the pan the crème fraîche, basil and dill.
  5. Heat gently for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Serve with sautéed spinach and potatoes.
