A pair of Christmas cracker recipes

Christmas would not be Christmas without good food and drink. Despite everything 2020 has thrown at us, this year should be no exception.

We may be restricted in terms of how many people can be catered for under one roof, but the quality of the food we serve on our plates shouldn’t be compromised.

Wales’s independent local businesses need YOU this festive period - and beyond - so that they can continue to positively contribute to their local communities.

That’s why we’ve created these two brand new Christmas-cracking recipes to spice up your festive menu, showcasing the very best locally produced Porc Blasus from Wales.

Crispy Porc Tenderloins with Cranberry and Port Gravy

This show-stopper of a recipe is a seriously tasty and impressive alternative to turkey on Christmas Day. Porc tenderloin is renowned for being the most tender part of the pig, and it’s melt in the mouth texture contrasts incredibly with the crispy outer bacon – finish it off with some zingy cranberries and you’re in for a sumptuous treat.

This meal serves 6-8, but if you’re cooking for fewer people don’t worry - it makes great leftovers which can be reheated or they’re still delicious eaten cold. It can even be prepared the evening before, ready for cooking the next day, keeping the special day as simple and enjoyable as possible.

Festive Porc Traybake

This simple but effective one-tray wonder is jam-packed with seasonal flavours like cinnamon, honey and satsuma – not to mention everyone’s favourite Christmas classic, pigs in blankets!

This recipe is absolutely ideal for festive family mealtimes, when all you want is to enjoy some hearty food that will work its magic and cook away on its own while you put your feet up!
